Nature Programs and Workshops:

Pre K - 45 minute program includes craft, up to 15 children, $150:

  • Lovely Ladybugs: Learn all about these cute, colorful and helpful insects. Meet live ladybugs! Count the spots, legs and antennae on a ladybug puppet. Learn what ladybugs eat. Make a ladybug craft.

  • Cute Caterpillars: Meet colorful, live caterpillars! Discover how they eat, and move Learn about the  caterpillar life-cycle - what will our caterpillars turn into? Make a caterpillar that turns into a butterfly!

  • Friendly Frogs: Meet a  live frog and tadpole! Find the frog’s eyes, mouth, ears and long legs. Learn what frogs eat and what sound they make. Play a hopping game. Create a frog headband to take home.

  • Bumpy Toads: Meet a  live toad! Find the toad’s eyes, mouth, ears and bumpy skin. Learn what toads eat and listen to the sound a toad makes. Play “Find the hiding toads” game and make a toad headband .

  • Terrific Turtles: Meet a live turtle! Learn about a turtle’s shell, see how turtles move and what they eat. Find out where turtles live and how they find food. Make a turtle to take home.

K - 5th grade: - 90 minute program includes science activity, up to 25 children, $150:

  • Cool Caterpillars: Meet awesome live caterpillars! Learn caterpillar anatomy: discover how they eat, move and breath. Learn about  metamorphosis - what will our caterpillars turn into? Observe caterpillar defenses against predators. Design your own caterpillar.

  • Frogs and Toads: Meet a  live frog and toad! How are they the same and how are they different? Learn about amphibian metamorphosis. Discover how adaptations help frogs and toads survive. (K-5 activity: create a frog ecosystem poster).Columbine

  • Lucky Ladybugs: Learn all about these cute, colorful and helpful insects. Meet live ladybugs!  Observe their life-cycle. Find out how ladybugs help keep plants healthy. K-5 activity: Use a magnifying glass and learn how to identify local ladybug species, take home a ladybug  identification chart.

  • Decomposers: Decomposers are an important part of our ecosystem! Search for live decomposers in their traveling habitat, learn what they eat, where they live and how they help keep our environment healthy. Discover how decomposers defend themselves from predators.  Create a decomposer to take home.

  • Life In The Pond: Meet some macro invertebrates -  small creatures who play a big role in a pond  ecosystem. Search a sample of pond water, find and identify macro-invertebrates, use a magnifying glass for a close look! Create a pond food web.

  • What is a pollinator: Learn what pollination is and why it is so important. Watch honeybees in an Observation Hive. Learn about other insects that are also important pollinators Take home your own sunflower seedling !
